Abraham Attah lands lead role in Birdman’s Hollywood film.
Ghana’s youngest heartthrob, Abraham Atta (Beast of nation fame) after staring in Spiderman: homecoming has landed yet another movie role for himself, as he will be staring in American rapper, Birdman’s Hollywood film portraying the life of Nigerian Immigrants. The young Ghanaian actor after his role in Beast of no nation, which earned him global awards and recognitions moved to the US and is currently based there for his education alongside his career. Abraham Atta will be playing the lead role in the coming of age film, which is entitled ‘Tanzanian Devil’.
The story which evolves around a Nigerian immigrant, will be executive produced by Birdman and will have a debut feature from Solomon Onita Jr, a Nigerian-American filmmaker. Meanwhile, Groundwurk Studio’s Benny Boom will also partner as an executive producer on the yet to be shot movie. Also in the cast are Adepero Oduye (Pariah, When They See Us) and Nater Guma Mbaho Mwime (Queen of Katwe, The Chi) who will play as Abraham Atta’s mother and deeply religious father respectively. There is however no official announcement of a release date, but the film is currently post-production.
Speaking about the project, Benny Boom said, “I have been creating visuals for Cash Money artists for decades, and I am excited about this next phase of our collaboration.
Bryan ‘Birdman also mentioned, “Williams has supported me since my first years directing, and this joint venture is a natural business and creative transition – the first of many.”

‘Tazmanian Devil’ follows Dayo, a 19-year-old immigrant (Attah) who, after moving to the US, struggles to bond with his estranged father, who abandoned his family to become a missionary.When he joins a college fraternity, he is challenged by his father, leaving him in search of his own moral ground.
