BROTHER SAMMY WILL SERVE 25-YEAR JAIL TERM – FDA BARKS
The weekend was characterized by reports of Kumasi based gospel musician, Brother Sammy’s arrest owing to his illicit advertisement of a product he claims could cure HIV/AIDS, asthma, diabetes, blood pressure among other chronic diseases on social media. Following his arrest, his woes might be getting worse as he stands a chance of facing a 25-year jail term. This was according to the Public Relations Office of the Food and Drugs Authority(FDA), Mr. James Lartey who made this revelation on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’,
He disclosed; “He is likely to serve a maximum of 25 years in prison if found guilty after investigations”. Brother Sammy will serve 25-year jail term.
Meanwhile, Brother as earlier stated, was trending on social media in a video, in which he was seen with a liquid which he said was given to him by God, claiming it could cure diseases like HIV/AIDs. This constituted flouting of the law, thus by overlooking the authority of the FDA to advertise the said product. In view of this, the gospel musician was later taken into custody by the Ashanti regional police command, during the with weekend following an action by the FDA.
