Organisers of NMNA to honour Channelstv reporter

The organizers of Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award, NMNA, has concluded arrangements to honour late Precious Owolabi who was killed in the cross fire of Shiites /police clash recently.

The award which will be conferred on him posthumously, according to the organizers is aimed at inspired confidence to those who are committed to their chosen profession to put in all the best while on active service.

The Publicity Manager of the NMNA, Mr. Murphy Ajibade, said the young man who died while carrying out his lawful duty was a hero of sort.

” According to Ajibade, since the young man paid the supreme sacrifice while carrying out his duty, the onus is on the society to recognize his bravery and dedication to duty.” He said.

Ajibade said Precious Owolabi will be honoured on the day of the event, adding that NMNA intend getting in touch with any of his siblings to receive the award on his behalf.

It will be recalled that two Nigerian journalists ;Tayo Awotusin and Krees Imodibe; were caught in Liberian cross fire in 1990 while carrying out their lawful duty
